Peer Evaluations
Please use the following form to evaluate all of your team members, including yourself.
PEER RATING OF TEAM MEMBERS.doc
This will assist the faculty in assigning appropriate credit for your teams performance to idividual group members. Hand these in to Dr. Dahm, after your team has submitted its final report, but by 5:00 PM Wednesday, December 19th.
Plastic Member Testing
The results for each test contain time, force, and elongation (nominally pin-to-pin). The tests were run to failure, or to the end of travel for the test machine. For at least one test, the load was not initially zeroed. If you notice that a particular dataset does not start at or near zero pounds, you will want to subtract an initial value from all of the data to account for this offset.
The convention for the file names is as follows: the letter denotes the width (A = 3/4", B = 1", C = 1 1/4", D = 1 1/2") and the number following represents the total length of the member. To the extent that the peices were machined properly, the distance from the center of the two holes would be 1 1/2 inches less than the total length. All of the tests were run at the same extension rate, except for A6 and C6, which were slower. The SC denotes tests that were run in the second batch. Some of the specimens in the second batch had manufacturing flaws. These were not tested.
Please feel free to talk to me about how you might want to look at the data to get information that will be useful to your team.
